The Governor's Giant Vision Business Awards
The Governor's Giant Vision Business Awards 2005 Competition is open to any South Dakotan, including university and technical school students, the general public and experienced entrepreneurs, who have an idea for a new business.
Applicants must submit an extensive written business plan outlining their idea. A panel of judges, made up of venture capitalists, financiers, educators and established business leaders, will review all of the submitted plans and invite qualifying entries to a formal competition on April 7, 2005 in Sioux Falls.
These participants will be expected to give an extensive presentation, a five-minute videotaped presentation and discuss their ideas with business leaders, finance experts and others invited to attend the event.
Governor's Giant Vision Business Awards 2005 Prizes
Grand Prize (one awarded)- Cash prize of $20,000 plus the chance to enter the " 2006 World's Best Technologies Competition*"
Second Place (two awarded)- Cash prize of $10,000 plus the chance to enter the " 2006 World's Best Technologies Competition*"
Third Place (two awarded)- cash prize of $2,500
* The World's Best Technologies Competition is held annually during the month of March in Arlington, Texas. Entrants are exposed to regional and national investors and leaders of some of the most successful businesses in the world. More information is available at www.wbt05.com.
