The
South Dakota Chamber and Economic Development Council (SDCEDC) will hold their annual winter conference in conjunction with the Governor's Budget Address on
Tuesday, December 6 in Pierre.
The conference topic is Labor Availability and will feature presentations on the South Dakota Department of Education's SD My Life and My Life Network program; a discussion of pre-legislative issues lead by South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry President David Owen; Making Diversity Work in Rural America - a panel discussion featuring Tim Jurgens, Director, Lutheran Social Services Refugee & Immigration Center, Sioux Falls; Terry Nebelsick, Superintendent, Huron Public Schools; Smokey Hueston, Director of Human Resources, Dakota Provisions, Huron; and David Giovannini, General Manager, Molded Fiberglass, Aberdeen. During lunch, Ann Gesick-Johnson, Workforce Development Coordinator, GOED will present on GOED's Certified Ready Site program.
The conference will conclude at 12:45 PM, allowing participants to attend Governor Daugaard's budget address at 1 PM at the Capitol.
