The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Annual Meeting and Business Day at the Legislature will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Ramkota RiverCentre in Pierre.

We are pleased to announce two speakers for the 2014 event.  Our luncheon speaker will be Ted Phlegar, Esq., Senior Counselor, Workforce Freedom Initiative, US Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Phlegar will offer a short presentation on the topic of “Federal Regulation and Your Business” which addresses several federal labor-related regulations, case decisions and enforcement issues.  Mr. Phlegar will also provide a more in-depth presentation of these topics during an afternoon session. 

Our banquet speaker will be Thomas D. Gallagher, a Principal of the Scowcroft Group, Washington, DC.  Gallagher provides strategic and financial advisory services to clients specializing in U.S. monetary, fiscal, and currency policies.  He also analyzes G20 economic policies and global trends.  Tom spoke at Business Day in 2005 and provided powerful insights about how investors were looking at the economy.  We look forward to hearing from one of the leading analytical minds about today's economic trends.   Prior to joining the Scowcroft Group, Mr. Gallagher was a Senior Managing Director of the International Strategy and Investment Group, Inc.  ISI is a Wall Street research firm.  Before he began at ISI in 1999, he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, where he worked as a political economist for thirteen years.

Join statewide leaders at a reception co-sponsored by the State Chamber and local economic development offices and view a digital showcase of the South Dakota manufacturing industry

6:30 PM - Business Day Banquet featuring guest speaker Thomas Gallagher, Scowcroft Group, Washington, DC

The Chairwoman of Business Day is Dawn Morris of Morris, Inc. in Fort Pierre.  Morris is also the immediate past Chairwoman of the State Chamber Board of Directors.  Business Day at the Legislature provides a forum for business and community leaders across the state to come to Pierre and participate in activities that pertain to the legislative process.

Registration:
Full registration for the day (programs, luncheon, reception and dinner) is $90.  Reception and banquet only is $75.  The early registration discount expired Friday, February 14. 

Registration for the legislative update, luncheon and Business Caucus only is $50 per person.  No discounts apply to this option.
